Film fraternity meets PM to discuss film industry issues

Honourable Prime Minister on 17th December at Raj Bhavan along with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis met the film industry delegates  Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Rakesh Roshan,Prasoon Joshi, Sajid Nadiadwala, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ronnie Screwala, Bhushan Kumar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Vijay Singh and Mahaveer Jain pitched for lower and uniform rates of GST for the fraternity apart from calling for the development of Mumbai as the global entertainment capital, through various initiatives and proactive approaches. According to a PIB statement, the delegation gave Narendra Modi an overview of the vast growth potential of the media and entertainment industry in India, and said that this sector is poised to contribute in a significant way towards the Prime Minister’s vision for making India a five trillion dollar economy in the near future. PM Modi assured the delegation that the Central Government is supportive of the media and entertainment industry, and would consider the suggestions in a positive manner. It was inspiring for the film industry stalwarts to hear the PM’s views.
